Next-Door K9 takes pride in making your dog’s training our mission! Next-Door K9 Solutions was founded in order to promote well-rounded, balanced, and healthy dog training. At Next-Door K9 Solutions we train and board all dogs in our homes. Composing our daily routine around your dog's needs, we use our homes and communities to assist in your dog's training.

Meet Alex Rohan
Owner • Head Trainer • Aggression Specialist
Hey, I’m Alex — the owner of Next-Door K9 Solutions of Louisville. I started training dogs in 2019, and what began as a personal outlet quickly became a full-blown passion and career. After returning home from Afghanistan, I needed something that gave me purpose again — and dog training gave me exactly that. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to constantly learning, growing, and working with dogs at every level. Today, I own and manage three NDK9 locations, but I’m still hands-on — especially when it comes to aggression. I specialize in handling serious behavior cases across all our locations, though I’ve worked with just about every kind of dog and situation out there. For me, this isn’t just a job — it’s a mission. Helping owners regain control, helping dogs find peace, and building trust between the two is what drives me every day

Hi, I’m Alexis — co-owner of this Next-Door K9 location alongside my husband, Alex. I started my training journey in 2013 after bringing my Blue Heeler, Sheila, to a professional trainer. What began as a way to help my own dog quickly turned into a lifelong passion. From Schutzhund to puppy development and basic obedience, I dove deep into the world of dog training and haven’t looked back. Over the years, I’ve continued growing my knowledge and hands-on experience with all kinds of dogs and families. Working side-by-side with my husband has made this career even more meaningful. We share the same mission: helping dogs and their people build stronger, more confident relationships through clear communication and structure.
Meet Scotty
Louisville Native • Trainer Since 2021
Hey, I’m Scotty! I got into dog training because of my soul dog, Trouble — a wild, reactive mess who taught me everything the hard way. Figuring him out sparked a passion that turned into a career. Since 2021, I’ve worked with dogs of all kind, from tiny puppies to feral, human-aggressive cases. I love watching dogs transform from chaotic to calm — and seeing owners grow just as much. Born and raised in Louisville, I’m proud to help dogs and their people thrive in my hometown.
